Versatility allows them to seamlessly transition from writing poignant ballads to crafting upbeat anthems
In line with the brand’s ongoing commitment to elevating new music from emerging musicians around the world, the annual Gibson Artist Spotlight program will showcase an evolving roster of musicians who will be featured across Gibson’s global and international channels.
The Artist Spotlight program debuted in January 2024 with Austin Sexton and recently added Mona Lindgren, Alex Ritchie, Zach Person, and Devon Thompson to the ranks. It also welcomed Ayoni, The Picturebooks, Camilla PNK, DeWolff, and now Tigirlily Gold.
Comprised of sisters Kendra and Krista Slaubaugh, Tigirlily Gold, an acclaimed North Dakotan songwriter duo, transplanted to the vibrant music scene of Nashville, Tennessee, in 2017. Their musical journey began as kids who formed a band in high school. With heartfelt lyrics and smooth melodic flair, their unique blend of talents quickly captured the attention of audiences and industry insiders alike. The duo charted on the Billboard Country Airplay chart with “Shoot Tequila” and recently won the Academy of Country Music award for New Duo/Group of the Year.
Tigirlily Gold scored a coveted weekly residence at Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row in Nashville and became part of the lower Broadway fabric of Music City. Producer Shane McAnally discovered the duo and signed them to the Nashville branch of Monument Records.

We caught up with Tigirlily Gold to find out more.
How would you describe your music?
“Girl group energy full of family harmony.”
What is your favorite piece of gear?
“My favorite Gibson guitar is the ‘Bluebird’ Hummingbird™. It sounds so full and has a great balance of depth and brightness, and is a well-rounded guitar, overall. It really fits the Tigirlily Gold sound. We play a ton of acoustic shows, and the Bluebird fully supports the entire instrumentation for those kinds of gigs. I got the guitar when our band played Pilgrimage Festival in 2023, and have been using it ever since. It’s also the most gorgeous shade of blue.”
What has been the highlight of your musical career so far?
“Making our Grand Ole Opry debut back in 2023 and winning our first ACM award for New Duo/Group of the Year just a few weeks ago. We got to perform our current single ‘I Tried a Ring On’ at the awards show, which was such a huge moment in our career.”
What would be your dream artist or producer collaboration, and why?
“We would love to collaborate with Dolly Parton. She embodies everything that is country music. We love everything she stands for personally and professionally.”
What does being part of the Gibson Artist Spotlight program mean to you?
“Gibson is such an iconic brand that’s been so artist-focused throughout time. When it comes down to it, they care about the craft of making their guitars, so artists have an easier time focusing on their own craft of creating music. I (Krista) have always loved Gibson guitars and love playing them live and writing songs with them, so this program felt like the perfect fit!”
What’s next on the horizon for you?
“Our debut album ‘Blonde’ comes out July 26th, which we cannot wait for! We will be on the road for most of 2024, so make sure to check tigirlily.com to see if we’re coming to a city near you!”
