Camilla PNK Joins the Gibson Artist Spotlight Program

From fuchsia-haired frontwoman to solo artist force-of-nature

In line with the brand’s ongoing commitment to elevating new music from emerging musicians around the world, the annual Gibson Artist Spotlight program will showcase an evolving roster of musicians who will be featured across Gibson’s global and international channels.

The Artist Spotlight program debuted in January 2024 with Austin Sexton and recently added Mona LindgrenAlex Ritchie, Zach Person, and Devon Thompson to the ranks. It also welcomed Ayoni, The Picturebooks, and now Camilla PNK.

Hailing from Italy, Camilla PNK is a guitar player, singer, and DJ known for her highly energetic grungy style and punk attitude. Camilla signed her first official collaboration with Gibson Italy in 2018. After many years as the frontwoman of the still-active power rock trio ROS, she began touring as lead guitarist, supporting various Italian artists like the urban star Rosa Chemical.

Now, she’s focused on her budding solo project, mixing her distorted guitars with bit-crushed clubbing sounds. Camilla PNK’s power-injected first single, “Rotto#1,” was released in January. Her mesmerizing current single is “Hello Kurt.” She will publish new music soon to play loud worldwide.

Camilla’s journey from head-banging leader to a solo artist experimenting with new sounds exemplifies her evolution as a musician. Her ability to adapt and innovate ensures that her musical journey will continue to captivate and inspire. As she prepares for the next phase of her career, the music world watches, ready for the next wave of her sonic revolution.

We caught up with Camilla PNK to find out more.

How would you describe your music?

“I would describe my music as loud! Ever since I first picked up my guitar, I’ve been drawn to creating wild and fuzzy noises. It’s become a reflection of me and my energetic nature; the scream of my guitar mirrors my own inner scream. This flavor now marks my style and my music.”

What is your favorite piece of gear?

“My beloved piece from Gibson is my violet SG Futura, the first guitar I collaborated on with Gibson. I’ve had countless incredible gigs with her because I like versatility: she maintains the classic warmth of an SG but delivers a modern, aggressive sound. The Sidewinder pickup and integrated boost are perfect for my unleashing rock drops!”

What has been the highlight of your musical career so far?

“I view my career as a continual journey of growth, marked by numerous exciting projects, milestones, and crunchy news. One standout highlight was the unforgettable crazy tour my band embarked on in 2018: I started partnering with Gibson, and we played around 50 concerts, sharing stages with iconic artists like Marilyn Manson, A Perfect Circle, Bad Religion, Papa Roach, and YUNGBLUD.”

What would be your dream artist or producer collaboration, and why?

“My dream collaboration would be with Tom Morello. I admire his ability to craft a unique and recognizable style, as well as his innovative approach to guitar playing. Collaborating with him to blend our sounds and ideas would be nothing short of amazing!”

What does being part of the Gibson Artist Spotlight program mean to you?

“When I was just 13 years old, I laid hands on my first electric guitar: a heritage cherry Gibson SG Standard. It was then that I knew I wanted to make music for all my life. Being selected as one of the artists for the Gibson Artist Spotlight program is a special achievement that strongly reaffirms my commitment to that path!”

What’s next on the horizon for you?

“Currently, I’m immersed in creating new music and experimenting with distorted sounds that will define my upcoming debut single album. And, of course, I’m ready for numerous concerts: the stage is my favorite place to be, and on the horizon, I envision myself rocking out on a big one, burning with a Gibson guitar!”
