Honoring the founder of Led Zeppelin and his iconic acoustic instrument
Jimmy Page, one of the most iconic rock guitarists in history, picked a mid-60s Gibson SJ-200™ as his acoustic guitar of choice when recording Led Zeppelin’s debut album. This stellar instrument featured on multiple songs from that monumental record and was showcased during his brilliant solo performance of “White Summer/Black Mountain Side” on the Julie Felix Show on April 26, 1970.
Now, in close collaboration with Jimmy Page, Gibson Custom introduces this extraordinary guitar in two editions: the Jimmy Page 1964 SJ-200 and the Jimmy Page 1964 SJ-200 Collector’s Edition. With significant input from Page on everything from the sonic character and wear to the playability and the vivid Cherry Tea sunburst finish, this design brings a piece of music history into the hands of collectors and players alike.
Gibson Custom’s famed Murphy Lab has applied custom light aging techniques to this model, recreating the original guitar’s look and feel. Every detail has been thoughtfully rendered to Jimmy Page’s exacting standards and recollection. These limited-edition guitars are a testament to both Jimmy Page’s artistry and Gibson Custom’s attention to detail.

Exceptional craftsmanship and materials
The Jimmy Page 1964 SJ-200 is meticulously crafted with highly flamed AAA maple for the back and sides, offering a visually stunning appearance and rich tonal qualities. Its top is made from AAA Sitka spruce, known for its excellent resonance and dynamic response. The guitar features a Super Jumbo body with multi-ply binding on both the top and back, enhancing its durability and aesthetic appeal. Uniquely, the body is slightly deeper at the neck joint compared to a standard SJ-200, a design element that contributes to its distinctive sound by providing greater depth and projection.

It is paired with a bound rosewood fretboard with 20 standard frets, ensuring smooth playability across the entire range. The fretboard is adorned with mother-of-pearl Graduated Crown inlays, adding a touch of elegance and paying homage to classic Gibson design elements. This combination of premium materials and thoughtful craftsmanship makes the Jimmy Page 1964 SJ-200 a remarkable instrument both visually and sonically.
