Quick Connect and new colorways feature in the Gibson Pickup Shop expansion
Hot on the heels of the Collector’s Edition Series, the Gibson Pickup Shop augments an already impressive lineup with seven new pickups.
The Original Collection equips the flagship models with Quick Connect™, allowing players an easier route to pickup swaps without soldering. The Modern Collection additions included a new set powered by hot ceramic magnets. New bobbin colorways are also featured for those seeking a specific look for their guitar aesthetic.
Since the mid-2000s, Gibson USA has used Quick Connect technology for fast and efficient CPA (Control Panel Assembly) changes on select guitar models. Offering these in a 4-conductor quick-connect format allows Quick Connect CPA-equipped Gibson guitar owners to effortlessly reshape their sound without requiring special equipment or training. With a screwdriver to remove the mounting rings and backplate, players can disconnect and replace the existing pickups within minutes.
Director of Product Development Jason Davidson says of the Gibson Pickup Shop, “This craftory builds the engine of the electric guitar”
