Gibson updates the modern collection acoustics with tri-burst versions of the Hummingbird Standard and the SJ-200 Standard

An exclusive new finish and the same legendary acoustic tones

All three of Gibson’s most popular acoustic guitars from the Modern Collection, the J-45™ Standard, the Hummingbird™ Standard, and the SJ-200 Standard, are now available in an exclusive, stunning Tri-Burst finish found only on Gibson.com.

Previously, only the J-45 was available with this finish in three variations featuring a red spruce top, a Sitka spruce top, and a Sitka spruce VOS version. Crafted for versatility and playability, these contemporary interpretations of classic models feature popular updates such as slimmer necks, new woods, and modern electronics.

Gibson introduced its first acoustics early in the 20th century. Soon after, the company became a significant player in the acoustic guitar market, introducing several models that have become truly iconic over the decades. Immortalized on hit records, the three models below are among the most cherished and popular for their distinctive looks, tone, and feel—they are among the finest from the Gibson craftory in Montana.

The distinctive Hummingbird, now in a Tri-Burst finish

The Gibson Hummingbird guitar stands out for its versatility. Whether you’re strumming simple chords, fingerpicking, or playing intricate lead lines, it consistently delivers rich, deep tones. Its square-shouldered mahogany body and high-quality Sitka spruce top can anchor rhythm sections or complement the subtle dynamics of contemporary singer-songwriters.

The Hummingbird features a mahogany neck with a comfortable rounded profile adorned with the classic mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays. It has a TUSQ® nut, saddle, and bridge pins, Grover® Rotomatic® tuners, and iconic Hummingbird graphics on the pickguard. Ready for live performances and studio sessions, it includes L.R. Baggs™ VTC electronics. A durable hardshell case is also included.

The SJ-200 features mother of pearl Crown inlays on the fretboard and a Gibson Crown inlay on the headstock.

No matter what color you choose, the SJ-200 is outfitted with gold Grover Rotomatic tuners and a TUSQ® nut, saddle, and bridge pins. It comes stage and studio-ready, equipped with an internal L.R. Baggs Anthem mic/pickup system for excellent sound amplification. A durable hardshell case is also included.
