From guitar stands to cutting boards, the iconic guitar brand gives new life to excess wood, supporting disadvantaged members of the local community in the process
Gibson has unveiled the Repurpose Collection™, a series of handcrafted accessories made from leftover wood from electric and acoustic guitar production in collaboration with On The Edge, a Nashville-based program that supports disadvantaged members of the local community.
These additions to the Gibson Lifestyle Accessories collection include an attractive range of new items, including the Handcrafted Wooden Stand in single and doubleneck versions, the Multi-Wood Les Paul Cutting Board in face grain, and the Maple Les Paul Cutting Board in end grain.

The collection also offers accessories such as the Mahogany Pick Tray, the Mahogany Coaster Set, the Rosewood Fretboard Magnet Set, the Sitka Spruce Soundhole Coaster Set, and the Rosewood Fretboard Keychain.
A conscientious approach to craftsmanship
The Repurpose Collection aims to utilize excess wood from the guitar-making process, transforming it into functional and artistic pieces. By repurposing these materials, Gibson reduces waste and offers fans a unique way to own a piece of the brand’s storied craftsmanship. Each item features individual wood grain patterns and colors, making every piece unique.
Repurpose Collection products are handcrafted right here in Nashville, Tennessee, by On The Edge, a social enterprise program that helps support and rehabilitate disadvantaged members of the local community, empowering them to move towards independence, better jobs, and new careers.

Unique products with musical heritage
Smaller accessories like the Rosewood Fretboard Keychain and Magnet Set are made from rosewood cuts originally intended for guitar fretboards, while the Sitka Spruce Soundhole Coaster Set offers a connection to Gibson’s acoustic roots. Produced from soundhole punchouts collected during acoustic guitar making in Bozeman, Montana, these coasters are coated with a proprietary polyurethane mix for water resistance.

Among the standout items is the Handcrafted Wooden Stand, made from solid mahogany and maple. Designed with an elegant pendulum style, it offers extreme stability and features a String Swing™ yoke that is safe for nitrocellulose finishes. The base, shaped like an iconic “open book” headstock, adds a distinctly Gibson touch.
For culinary enthusiasts, the Maple Les Paul Cutting Board in end grain provides professional-grade durability. Crafted from repurposed maple and coated with an FDA food-safe mineral oil and beeswax blend, it features a reversible design with a Les Paul™-shaped juice groove on one side and recessed finger grips for ease of use.
The Repurpose Collection™ is available now. Find out more about the tonewoods used in Gibson and Epiphone instruments here.
