Gibson Hummingbird Standard: The return of the Vintage Cherry Sunburst finish expands the lineup

The mahogany body and Sitka spruce top deliver rich tones for any style

Gibson announces the release of the iconic Hummingbird Standard acoustic guitar in a Vintage Cherry Sunburst finish, expanding the lineup to four finishes—Vintage Sunburst, Vintage Cherry Sunburst, and exclusive Ebony and Tri Burst finishes, available only from Gibson.com and the Gibson Garage.

Beloved of music industry icons and renowned for its rich tone and exceptional versatility, the Hummingbird™ Standard is ready for anything. Whether in the hands of a rock sideman or an alternative singer-songwriter, the Hummingbird delivers dynamic sound across a range of playing styles, from full-bodied rhythm strumming to intricate lead picking.

Mahogany body and Sitka spruce top

Crafted with precision, this model features a square-shoulder mahogany body paired with a select Sitka spruce top. These elements combine to offer a combination of richness, clarity, and depth that stands out both in live performances and recording sessions. The guitar’s mahogany neck, designed with a rounded profile, offers comfort for extended playing, while the fingerboard’s mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays add a touch of class. Like all Gibson acoustic guitars, great care is involved in applying the nitrocellulose finish.
