Metro Nashville schools receive three Baldwin grand pianos to foster music education and acknowledge the memory of a life tragically cut short
Gibson Gives, the philanthropic arm of Gibson, has donated three Baldwin Grand Pianos to Metro Nashville area schools—Park Avenue Elementary, Margaret Allen Middle (pictured above, credit: Music City Chopin), and Antioch High School—expanding Music City Chopin’s Metro Nashville Piano Donation Program.
The initiative aims to provide under-resourced schools with quality instruments to foster music education. Andy Mizell, a Margaret Allen Middle School teacher, says, “We are so excited and grateful that Nashville Chopin and the Piano Rainbow Program have provided this incredible opportunity for students to have a grand piano in our school. It is so beautiful, and the students were elated as soon as it was delivered. We can’t wait to use it!”

A notable aspect of the donation is the blue piano gifted to Antioch High School, reflecting the school’s colors and dedicated to the memory of a life tragically lost in late January 2025. This gesture underscores the belief in music’s power to aid community healing.
Graciella Kowalczyk, Artistic Director of Music City Chopin, says, “We are deeply grateful to [Gibson Gives Global Executive Director] Erica Krusen for seeing the impact of our initiative and stepping in to amplify it.”
