Artist Biography

Kapali Long is a native Hawaiian country artist hailing from Honolulu, with roots in Americana, blues and folk music. A generational musician and skilled lap steel player, Kapali began playing guitar at the age of nine. His musical journey started when he discovered his older brother’s broken guitar with just one string and taught himself 11 songs.

Kapali’s career has been a long and evolving journey. In 2023, he performed on Nikki Lane’s Horseshoe Stage at Stagecoach, played at Gibson Garage Fest, and made his debut at Nashville’s Whiskey Jam in 2022. Over the years, he has graced iconic venues such as The Troubadour, The Echo, and Hotel Café. Recently, he debuted at Nashville’s 3rd & Lindsley as part of the Bluebird Café’s “Bluebird on 3rd,” celebrating up-and-coming writers and artists.

In his early 20s, Kapali honed his craft by studying traditional Blues, touring with blues trios, and performing in songwriter coffee shop tours across the U.S. Now based in Nashville, Kapali focuses on songwriting, a passion that deepened after opening for Robert Earl Keen on July 4, 2015—an experience that reaffirmed his belief in his musical path.

Looking ahead, Kapali is set to release his new EP, The Routines, in January 2025. Fans can catch him performing regularly at the Bluebird Café in Nashville, with additional tour and festival dates announced throughout the year.
